Willow Creek

Rating:  Expert

Willow Creek ride consists of a double track climb with some fairly steep areas for 2-3 miles, followed by some very fun and technical singletrack down! Complete ride is approx 7 miles long. Very technical hike a bike. Great for the expert looking to build his or her inflated ego.

Willow Creek

How to get there: To begin the ride, park off of Road 274 about a half mile east of the Government Center. If the parking lot there is full, you can park at the Government Center. You can either ride up the trail, or take the fire road on the west side of Willow Creek. If you take the fire road, go around the green gate and ride up the hill. (And I do mean up--this will involve a little climbing, but it's worth it!) After a while the hill crests and you get to let it rip down to the creek. (At the bottom of the hill, there is a sharp right, followed by a hard left which takes you over a large berm.) Depending on the time of year you'll either ride across the creek or walk across the tree to the east side of Willow Creek. Find the jeep track and follow it up the rocky hill to McCleod Flat. At this point you'll find Willow Creek Trail to your right, on the south side of McCleod Flat.
An alternative is to ride up Beasore Road 2.5 miles, where you'll find a dirt road on the left that leads down to McCleod Flat and the trail. Another possibility, and a fun one at that, is to find someone who will drive you up Beasore Road to the trail, then wait for you at the bottom. Using this system, you can ride the trail two or three times in an hour!!
